One project that encountered weather and permitting delays this year is about to begin

LITTLETON — At a time when residents at recent Select Board meetings have voiced concerns about and support for addressing the poor condition of some of the town’s sidewalks, one project that encountered weather and permitting delays this year is about to begin, just in time before the snow flies. On the sidewalk segment along Main Street from the First Congregational Church and extending just beyond the Meadow Street split to Saranac Street, crews will complete resurfacing as part of a project that will be done in phases. The work began Tuesday and is expected to wrap up at the end of the week, Doug Damko, director of the Department of Public Works, said in a note to business owners Monday morning. The contractor — Central Paving, of Jefferson — will do its best to coordinate with business owners and maintain access to their establishments, said Damko, who will also maintain regular communication with the contractor.
