Heavy rain has led to numerous washouts and road closures
CALEDONIA COUNTY — Heavy rain has led to numerous washouts and road closures in the region and required a few rescues Wednesday night. Barnet Fire performed seven rescues over a four hour span. Six were from homes threatened by rising water, one was from a car that drove into a washout. BFD also provided emergency shelter for approximately 10 people who were displaced by the storm, or cut off from their homes. The Stevens River overflowed its banks and carved a jagged, 300-foot gap in the area of the Post Office, cutting Barnet Village in half and severing a section of Route 5.
