Unemployment rates remain a subject of concern

Unemployment rates remain a subject of concern. It was not until the spring of 2019 that unemployment finally went down to the same level it sits at now. As of April 2023, national unemployment is at 3.4%. Stacker compiled a list of counties with the highest unemployment rates in Vermont using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Orleans Country is at the top of that list with an unemployment rate of 5.1 percent. The list shows a total labor force of 13,676 with 706 unemployed.
