Lyndon Institute is seeking approval to reverse traffic flow around its main academic building, saying the change would ease congestion and improve safety during busy student drop-off and pickup periods. The Lyndon Development Review Board heard the school’s site plan application Aug. 20. The proposal would reverse the existing one-way loop from counterclockwise to clockwise, add several parking spaces and change the circulation pattern at 168 Institute Circle.Under the proposal, vehicles would enter from College Road behind the school, loop around the back of the main academic building, and exit through the long driveway in front. A school representative said the change would essentially restore the traffic pattern that existed before 2010, when the flow was reversed to improve the view of the school from the entrance.
