The Select Board has added more money to upgrade the condition of the sidewalks
LITTLETON — The Select Board has added more money to upgrade the condition of the town’s sidewalks — a common source of citizen complaints — and has narrowed the scope of another sidewalk reconstruction project that voters approved nearly a decade ago. After a public hearing during its meeting on Monday for the acceptance of unanticipated funds, the board voted to accept $49,972.86 from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, a one-time payment in accordance with House Bill 2 for the maintenance, construction and reconstruction of Class IV and V highways. The money comes out of a $10 million total pot that is divided up and distributed to the state’s municipalities.
