Littleton Community Rallies to Keep Social Security Office Open

LITTLETON — Community members and local leaders are rallying to keep the Social Security Administration office in Littleton open following news that it is on the General Services Administration’s (GSA) list of non-core government buildings slated for possible closure. A rally is planned for Thursday, March 27, from noon to 1 p.m. in front of the Social Security office at 177 Main St. Rally organizers, the Northern Grafton County Democrats, encourage participants to bring signs and share the event within their networks to demonstrate support for retaining the office. Attendees will highlight the importance of this office to residents in Grafton and Coos Counties and nearby Vermont. U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen have voiced concerns regarding the proposed closure.
