The victims in this past weekends triple fatal overdose thought they were buying one drug to use

LITTLETON — The victims in this past weekend’s triple fatal overdose thought they were buying one drug to use when they unknowingly bought and used another that was more lethal, said the Littleton police detective working the case. On Tuesday, Detective Scott Powers said the number of people found deceased from a single overdose event is “uncharted waters” for the community, and Littleton police are working with state and federal partners to arrest and prosecute the person responsible for selling the deadly batch. Additionally, local police agencies outside of Littleton are also investigating other non-fatal overdoses in nearby towns that appear to be linked to the drug. Found dead inside a Littleton residence on Sunday afternoon were a 24-year-old man from Littleton, a 26-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old man from Dalton. Police are not yet releasing their names, citing an ongoing investigation.
