An adult female was found dead in the drivers seat of a Cadillac with a bullet hole in the windshield

ST. JOHNSBURY — An adult female was found dead in the driver’s seat of a Cadillac with a bullet hole in the windshield that crashed off the driveway of the Cornerstone School on Portland Street on Tuesday evening. Village police were joined by members of Vermont State Police at the scene about 6 p.m. A man named Scott Peters who was driving by the school when he noticed the car crashed off the driveway. He called police after he checked the car and saw the dead woman inside and the bullet hole. Investigation at the scene revealed a .22 caliber bullet on the driveway near the location of the Cadillac and a spent .22 caliber bullet casing also on the driveway nearby. Police are calling the death suspicious but believe this was an isolated event with no identified threat to the community.  Anyone with information that could assist investigators in this case is asked to call the Vermont State Police in St. Johnsbury at 802-748-3111.
