St. Johnsbury Select Board on Monday granted R.I.N.K, Inc. $100,000 in funding
The St. Johnsbury Select Board on Monday granted R.I.N.K, Inc. $100,000 in funding. The project is called the “Northeast Kingdom Regional Recreation Complex” which would be located on Bay Street in St. Johnsbury. The money comes from ARPA funding by the federal government. Scott Beck, who has been leading the project, said the money will be used to design the building and figure out the other aspects of the facility. The scope of the project will include two full NHL-size rinks, ice maintenance spaces and spectator areas. There would also be an indoor 200m track, and areas for fitness, wrestling, and gymnastics. There would also be office space and a pro shop. The construction of a $25-30 million dollar facility would require up to 125 workers and it is estimated that this facility would be under construction for 15-18 months.
