St. Johnsbury Interim Police Chief Kevin Wilson Withdraws Application for Permanent Job
ST. JOHNSBURY — The man who has served as acting police chief for several months has withdrawn his application to serve permanently. Interim Chief Kevin Wilson was one of four candidates for the town’s lead law enforcement job when the application period closed last month, but he withdrew before the interview process began. The remaining applicants for the police chief position are Det. Sgt. Lester Cleary, a 20-year veteran of the St. Johnsbury Police Department, Officer Robert Gerrish of the Lyndonville Police Department, who once served as an officer in the St. Johnsbury Police Department and more recently sought election in the race for Caledonia County Sheriff, and a police chief for a town in Maine. Interviews are beginning for the three candidates.
