Plymouth Man Rescued After Injury on Cannon Mountain Trail

FRANCONIA — A Plymouth man was rescued Thursday afternoon after injuring his leg while hiking on Cannon Mountain, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game. At about 11:42 a.m. on June 12, park staff at Franconia Notch State Park contacted Fish and Game to report an injured hiker on the Kinsman Ridge Trail. A trail crew working in the area located the hiker, identified as Calvin Swanson, 21, and remained with him until help arrived. Conservation officers and members of the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team responded and reached Swanson at 1:05 p.m. Rescuers carried Swanson down the trail in a litter, reaching the trailhead at 2:35 p.m. He was transported by family members to Littleton Regional Hospital for treatment.
