On Tuesday, the Select Board decided against having Town Hall serve as a Narcan dispensary

LANCASTER — On Tuesday, the Select Board decided against having Town Hall serve as a Narcan dispensary. The North Country Health Consortium had approached the town about distributing the life-saving medication. While the Select Board supported the concept, they felt the target population would not seek out Narcan at the municipal building. Lancaster Safety Committee member Robin Irving said the committee had generally supported the Town Hall distribution of Narcan in the past. However, the Select Board recommended that Narcan be pushed into the community, particularly to businesses. Town Manager Ben Gaetjens-Oleson indicated he would pass along the board’s recommendation to the North Country Health Consortium.
