Grafton County prosecutors and defense attorneys are proposing a state prison sentence of 3 to 6 years

Following a felony settlement conference on Oct. 3, Grafton County prosecutors and defense attorneys are proposing a state prison sentence of 3 to 6 years for the Vermont man charged in the 2021 fatal crash that killed his two daughters in Littleton. Under the terms of the proposed sentence, though, Jordan Couture, 38, of Colchester, whom authorities said was impaired, speeding and did not have the girls in seat belts, could serve a minimum of just above two years. In October 2022, Couture was indicted by a grand jury on two Class B felony counts of negligent homicide for the deaths of Kyriana Couture, 10, and Kelsey Couture, 7, who were killed on the evening of Dec. 5, 2021, after their father lost control of his unregistered 2004 Chevy Silverado.
