For Littleton Fire Rescue, it was a busy three days, from Friday through Sunday, when crews responded to 26 calls for service, including multiple calls to Cannon Mountain and Franconia, where an avalanche in the state park fell on two ice climbers. On Monday, Chad Miller, the chief for LFR, which provides Emergency Medical Services response to Franconia per a contract between the two towns, called it “an unusually busy” weekend, which brought multiple simultaneous medical calls, four vehicle crashes, an oven fire, and the Sunday avalanche, all a mix of weather-related incidents and non-weather-related. Fortunately, he is not aware of any major injuries or critical patients.
