Executive director of Umbrella will try to take Kitchels place

ST. JOHNSBURY — Encouraged by Sen. Jane Kitchel, who is not seeking re-election this year, the executive director of Umbrella will try to take Kitchel’s place. Amanda Cochrane, of St. Johnsbury, announced that she is seeking election to the Caledonia Senate District as a Democrat. She said pursuing elected office has been something she believed she would do one day, and that day has come thanks to a phone call from Sen. Kitchel. She said Sen. Kitchel’s choice of her as a candidate is an honor. Sen. Kitchel said that Cochrane has what it takes to serve in the Senate.
