ST. JOHNSBURY — Dylan Shaw, 22, Woodsville, was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct following a reported case of road rage on March 29 in Wells River. Initially reported to state police at 10:37 a.m. as an assault at Main Street and Railroad Street, it entailed a male blocking another vehicle with his own, assaulting the operator, then driving to Woodsville, N.H. Police and EMS responded and spoke with the alleged victim, John Scoppetta, 78, of Haverhill, N.H. Police say a road rage incident occurred between the two. Shaw allegedly pulled in front of Scoppetta, stopping both vehicles. Shaw allegedly assaulted Scoppetta, causing minor injury. Vermont State Police located Shaw later at a residence in Wells River, where he was taken into custody, transported to the Bradford Outpost for processing, and issued a citation to answer the above charges on April 17 in Orange County Criminal Court.
