An upcoming Drag Queen Story Hour faces pushback from a small but vocal group of residents
LYNDON — An upcoming Drag Queen Story Hour faces pushback from a small but vocal group of residents. Cobleigh Public Library has received a handful of complaints ahead of the May 18 event, where drag queens will read stories to children. However, Library director Bryn Hoffman said Drag Queen Story Hour is backed by most library patrons, including those who regularly attend its 150 yearly storytime events. Those who oppose the Drag Queen Story Hour, like Jay and Kathleen Iselin, claim it is equivalent to child abuse. The Iselins went before the Select Board on Monday to lodge their complaints.
