The Planning Board has reviewed conceptual plans to convert a portion of the Waumbek Golf Club into housing

JEFFERSON — The Planning Board has reviewed conceptual plans to convert a portion of the Waumbek Golf Club into housing. Golf course co-owner Forrest Hicks on March 26 presented tentative plans for 40 housing units alongside the re-opened 18-hole golf course. The proposal calls for 24 single-family homes west of Route 115A, 20 in a cluster development and four on larger lots. Meanwhile, eight duplexes would be built east of Route 115A. During a follow up consultation on April 9 the Planning Board evaluated whether the project met the municipal zoning by-laws and discussed how it could be permitted. No action was taken, but meeting minutes state that “both Mr. Hicks and the board members agreed these discussions were very productive.”
