After several years of staffing shortages in some municipal departments

After several years of staffing shortages in some municipal departments, including more recently in top administrative positions, the town of Littleton has turned a corner and is faring better than some other local towns and the state. On Friday, Linda MacNeil, chair of the Select Board, said there aren’t any current areas of concern regarding shortfalls. In August, the town announced that Ralph Lucas was the new Littleton Department of Public Works operations foreman. During the Select Board’s Sept. 23 meeting, Eric Oliver was named the new DPW director. At Littleton Parks and Recreation, interim recreation director Rilee Clark is trying to fill one position, said MacNeil. In all, Littleton is looking to fill one opening each at the DPW and parks and recreation, she said.
