CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A man who was living in a tent in the woods in New Hampshire was convicted of murder Monday in the fatal shooting of a retired couple who had gone out for a walk. After deliberating for a day and a half, the jury found Logan Clegg, 27, guilty of second-degree murder in the April 2022 killings of Stephen and Djeswende Reid. He faces up to life in prison when he’s sentenced Dec. 15. Prosecutor Joshua Speicher said the jury got it right, and was very thoughtful and attentive throughout the trial, which began Oct. 3. The couple were killed while walking on a trail near their apartment in Concord, the state capital. Their bodies, which were found several days later, had been dragged into the woods and covered with leaves, sticks and debris, police said.
