A Burlington man found dead

BURLINGTON — A Burlington man, who authorities said in December was a person of interest in the fatal shooting of two out-of-state men found dead in Lamoille County in October, is now charged with selling heroin in a “mother-child” wing at a hospital, according to a federal prosecutor. Theodore Bland, 28, formerly of Stowe, pleaded not guilty in federal court on Friday to a new indictment that added the two felony drug counts: knowingly and intentionally distributing heroin on Sept. 13 and 14. The two drug counts were added to an original unrelated charge of illegal possession of a 12-gauge Mossberg by Bland on March 17 while being an unlawful user of controlled substances, records show. Bland pleaded not guilty to the new indictment.
