Police Investigate Weekend Vandalism at Powers Park in Lyndon Volunteers Clean Up Damage
LYNDON — Police are investigating a report of vandalism at Powers Park, according to the Lyndonville Police Department. The Village Improvement Society, a nonprofit group that operates the town-owned recreation facility, reported that the park was vandalized over the weekend. Heather Tanner, a member of the group’s board, posted on social media that a portable toilet was pushed into a swamp and other items were damaged or destroyed. Volunteers with the organization cleaned up the damage on Sunday, removing and replacing the destroyed items. Police Chief Jack Harris said Monday that an investigation is ongoing.
