Six months after devastating floods, victims are seeking tax relief
LYNDON — Six months after devastating floods, victims are seeking tax relief. The Board of Abatement held meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday to review 17 tax appeals, with 10 appeals coming from residents affected by historic floods on July 10 and 30. Town Clerk Dawn Dwyer said the high number of tax appeals reflects the widespread damage caused by the two storms. “Typically, we have one or two requests per year,” Dwyer said. “This is unusual.” The board’s decisions will be made public next week.
