Select Board authorized a $300,000 emergency expenditure
LITTLETON—After a public hearing this week, the Select Board authorized a $300,000 emergency expenditure for upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant to keep it in compliance with the state’s new and reduced allowable copper effluent levels. The topic rose to a discussion in March, when the board voted 3-0 to support the funding. Monday’s public hearing was needed to finalize the process. With the board’s approval, the town will notify the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration, which will approve the use of the money. The money will come from the sewer fund’s unassigned fund balance, made up of sewer user fees, and it will have no tax impact.
