Dozens of area residents turned out in front of the post office
LITTLETON — Dozens of area residents turned out in front of the post office on Wednesday to rally for reproductive rights and protest a bill co-sponsored by the North Country’s state senator that seeks to ban abortion after 15 days in New Hampshire. Represented were groups that included the Northern Grafton Democrats, Coos County Democratic Committee, and the North Country Reproductive Action Committee. Among those turning out was Stephanie Weiner, co-lead of the North Country Reproductive Freedom Action Committee. While HB 1248 probably won’t go anywhere, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (a Republican who last week said he won’t support it and will put it in “the crazy pile”), needs to begin holding accountable those in his party who propose such bills, which won’t win his party any votes either, said Weiner.
