Whitefield Public Library (WPL) has revised plans
WHITEFIELD — Whitefield Public Library (WPL) has revised plans for a multi-million dollar building expansion. The new design would increase the size of the proposed two-story addition from 2,600 to 3,400 square feet. The estimated price tag would rise from $2.3 million to $3 million. The project will remain privately funded without taxpayer money, and WPL will apply for a Northern Borders Regional Commission grant to pay for added costs. The plans were changed this summer when design firm Alba Architects concluded that the original project budget was too low to meet community needs for meetings, events, activities, cooling/warming, and emergency shelter space.
