Vietnam Veterans Honored in Littleton Quilts of Valor Ceremony
LITTLETON—In a special Quilts of Valor ceremony on Sunday, seven Vietnam veterans were honored. One of them was bestowed a quilt along with his daughter, a Marine who served in Iraq, in a first father-daughter distinction for the North Country. The ceremony facilitated by the Sew Far North Quilts of Valor group was originally scheduled for March 29, which is designated as National Vietnam War Veterans Day to mark the day the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam in 1973, but was postponed because of snow. Their QOV certificates, however, will reflect the date of March 29.
