Vermonts largest hospital filed a motion
Vermont’s largest hospital filed a motion in resistance with the Green Mountain Care Board. The UVM Medical Center exceeded their allowed earnings last fiscal year, prompting regulators at the Green Mountain Care Board to take an independent enforcement action upon the hospital. The hospital says they made $80 million dollars in revenue, more than anticipated. They say that’s due to providing more care, and that the additional money was put back into patients, and not retained. Officials at the UVM Medical Center call the enforcement action an illegal exercise of the Green Mountain Care Board’s authority, and that they received no opportunity for due process. The hospital wants a new hearing and opportunity to explain what led to their millions in profits.
