Town could reestablish the dog park committee
LITTLETON—After some time of lying dormant, the town could reestablish the dog park committee or work with an existing nonprofit to create one. The dog park has been a community vision for nearly a decade and has strong support among residents. The project could go to another town vote for the new proposed site, which is on town-owned land. During Monday’s Select Board meeting, town manager Troy Brown said the official town dog park committee created by the Select Board in 2017 to research potential sites and costs and develop a plan was fairly active for a number of years before focusing its efforts on forming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to begin fund-raising for construction and equipment. The Littleton Dog Park nonprofit was registered with the New Hampshire Secretary of State in March 2021 and is chaired by Sue Pilotte, who had chaired the town committee.
