Three horses are dead after a car crash

TOPSHAM, Vt. – Three horses are dead after a car crash in Orange County last week. It happened just before 10:30 p.m. on Friday but Vermont State Police reported the incident on Tuesday. They say Hayden Hatch, 23, was driving his pickup on Route 25 in Topsham when he reportedly hit and killed two horses that were on the road. Not long after, a third horse died from its injuries. Police say Hatch fled the scene on foot before they got there but was found Saturday. He has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
