The Whitefield Public Library has announced a visitor surge

WHITEFIELD — The Whitefield Public Library has announced a visitor surge over the past year since adult and children’s programming was expanded. In a press release, WPL reported 8,500 visitors to date in 2023 and is on pace to double the visitor total from 2022. One reason for that is programming. Through Oct. 5, the library has offered 318 programs that have drawn 3,296 attendees. Lyn Schmucker, a 25-year early childhood educator hired as WPL program director in July 2022, is cited as a primary reason for the library’s robust use this year. Whitefield Public Library reported 2,100 visitors this summer alone, with over half attending 76 programs, according to the press release.
