The trial of two members of the alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy in Danville will begin in the fall

The trial of two members of the alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy in Danville will begin in the fall. Serhat Gumrukcu of Los Angeles and Berk Eratay of Nevada will begin their trial in Rutland, and a jury draw is set for Sept. 16 at 9 a.m. The jury trial will commence immediately after the jury draw, and the trial will continue through Friday, Oct. 11, according to court documents. Chief Federal Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford will be on the bench. Gumrukcu and Eratay pleaded not guilty in federal court, which alleges that they paid alleged hitman Jerry Banks to travel to Vermont and kidnap Danville resident Greg Davis at his home located at 884 Hawkins Road. The FBI says Banks posed as a fake U.S. Marshal to kidnap Davis from his home on Jan. 6, 2018.
