Record high temperatures paired with heavy rainfall led to several regional disruptions, including road closures, early school dismissals and various emergency incidents. Meteorologist Lawrence Hayes of Fairbanks Museum reported Monday afternoon that a high temperature of 57 degrees had been recorded, besting the previous record high for Dec. 18 of 53 degrees set in 1921. There were several major and minor road closures around the region.
