Plans are developing for the potential purchase of the building

LITTLETON — Plans are developing for the potential purchase of the building at 50 Pleasant St., which could be the new home of the municipal offices if voters approve it. In early December, the property that is currently owned by Northern New England Telephone Co. (Consolidated Communications) was listed for sale at $650,000. After ongoing negotiations with the town, the purchase price has been reduced, and, using money from the unassigned fund balance, would not result in new taxation if the town were to buy it. During Monday’s Select Board meeting, Town Manager Troy Brown said he has been working at the instruction of the board to finalize a purchase and sale agreement. “We have agreed to a purchase price of $625,000,” he said. The multi-phased approach includes buying the structure and then redesigning it for town use.
