New housing is coming to St. Johnsbury. The town’s Rental Housing Improvement Program will contribute to the construction of 20 new apartments in St. Johnsbury and five apartment renovations. 77 applications were received in the current round and the rental housing review committee recommended funding for 25 projects. The town’s total funding is $140,208 to support $972,390 in project costs. The maximum grant amount is $6,000 per unit. The new apartments and renovated apartments are at 16 different addresses and many include multiple new units.
