Money to make Catamount Arts building air chemical-free was granted by Gov. Phil Scott on Friday
ST. JOHNSBURY — Money to make Catamount Arts’ building air chemical-free was granted by Gov. Phil Scott on Friday. Since the Montpelier-based firm Stone Environmental Inc. prepared a Correction Action Plan earlier this month to prevent potentially harmful chemicals from entering the Eastern Avenue headquarters of the arts organization, things have moved quickly. To proceed with the work outlined in the plan, Stone needed approval from the Vermont Department of Conservation, which was given on Feb. 5, and Gov. Scott needed to authorize the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development to release money from the Brownfields Revitalization Fund, which he did on Friday.
