LYNDON — An East Burke man parking his car at the Passumpsic Bank branch on Broad Street mistakenly hit the accelerator pedal on Wednesday, which bolted the car forward onto the curb and toward the building. The front portion of the passenger side struck the side of the bank building, but it was light impact, causing only minor, cosmetic damage. Lyndonville Police Chief Jack Harris said William Ware Sr. was positioning his Toyota Rav 4 to park when he pressed the gas pedal instead of braking. Ware was not hurt; his vehicle was removed from the scene by Trahan Towing.
