Littleton Fire Rescue Gets $40,000 Grant to Study EMS Costs and Regionalization

LITTLETON — With a $40,000 GO-NORTH planning grant, Littleton Fire Rescue will take a deeper dive into the actual costs of providing emergency medical services to its partner towns of Franconia, Sugar Hill, and Easton, and study the potential for a wider EMS regionalization system with other communities. During their meeting on Monday, Littleton Select Board members unanimously approved the grant, which will involve a request for proposal from a qualified firm to evaluate the current costs of providing EMS, develop a cost-allocation methodology and a fair and sustainable process for sharing those costs among participating municipalities, and assess potential opportunities for regionalization in the Littleton region of the state, including for fire response beyond EMS.
