Firefighters battled brush fires in two New Hampshire towns
JAFFREY, N.H. — Firefighters battled brush fires in two New Hampshire towns on Saturday. A fire off Rt. 202 in Jaffrey brought crews to the scene on Saturday morning. Fire Chief David Chamberlain said they dispatched it as a first alarm brush fire. He said the dry, windy conditions drastically increase the odds of those ashes sparking new flames and once they start, they move fast. Litchfield Fire Rescue said before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, they were dispatched to the area of Burgess Drive for the report of a possible brush fire and when they arrived, they found a small brush fire behind a home growing in size.
