Extended the deadline for a grand jury indictment against the Pennsylvania man
Attorneys have extended the deadline for a grand jury indictment against the Pennsylvania man arrested in October on a charge of murdering his grandmother with a hammer at her Easton home on Sept. 28. According to the case summary viewed Monday, few filings have been made in the case against Joshua Lanchester, 23, since a Nov. 22 motion filed by the state, and agreed to by the defense, to extend the grand jury deadline. Lanchester’s previous attorney, Emily Wynes, withdrew on Dec. 27, and his current attorney is listed as Maria Savarese of the office of the New Hampshire Public Defender. Other motions in the case, including multiple motions for services, remain sealed. Authorities have not released the affidavit for arrest and it is currently undetermined what led to the incident or who placed the 9-1-1 call.
