Defense Attorney Laura Wilson had a hearing on Wednesday
Defense Attorney Laura Wilson had a hearing on Wednesday asking the court to reduce the $50,000 bail on alleged kidnapper Nichole J. Cloutier. Attorney Wilson also presented a new Condition #4 person for Cloutier who was identified as Andrew Davis of West Burke. But Deputy State’s Attorney Tom Paul noted to the judge that Cloutier had nine previous failures to appear in court and that Andrew Davis has two pending felony charges including larceny from a person and accessory aiding in the commission of assault and robbery. A Condition #4 person is considered a responsible adult who would take a suspect into their home and report any violations of conditions of release. Judge Michael R. Kainen then said he was concerned about Cloutier’s “significant risk of flight” and Cloutier’s mental health condition. “The affidavit, at least, would suggest that she was living with a bunch of people who were doing drugs,” said the judge. The judge then kept the bail at $50,000.
