Convicted Sex Offender Captured in New Hampshire Woods

ST. JOHNSBURY — A convicted sex offender on the run from justice in southern New Hampshire was captured locally on Tuesday. Elwin Moses, 65, was found living in the woods off Long Hill Road in Concord in the afternoon on Tuesday by members of the Vermont State Police and Essex County Sheriff’s Department. A fugitive from justice from Derry, N.H., Moses reportedly broke from conditions of his parole in August 2023 and has been wanted by New Hampshire Department of Corrections since. He had been placed on parole after serving a lengthy prison sentence following convictions of aggravated felonious sexual assault. He was sentenced 20-40 years for the offense in 1996. Additional convictions are for offenses of simple assault, drunken driving, disobeying an officer, indecent exposure and lewdness, and escape.
