CCSU Approves New Three-Year Contract for Support Staff

Caledonia Central Supervisory Union has approved a new contract with support staff after months of negotiations and appearances by staff members at public meetings urging the board to offer a “livable wage” and citing hardship under the current pay rates. The contract has received approval from both the SU board and the school district boards in a series of meetings held in recent days. The staff members originally approved the contract before the boards voted on their approval. The term is for three years, which includes the current school year, as staff have been working without a contract under. CCSU Board Chair Clayton Cargill, who is a member of the SU’s negotiation council, walked the SU’s five school board’s through the details of the new contract, explaining some of the changes, motivations and impacts.
