Bartlett Officer Struck by Vehicle in Multi-Mile Chase; Suspect Arrested
BARTLETT, N.H. — A police officer was struck by a vehicle during a pursuit that spanned multiple northern New Hampshire towns, authorities said. According to Bartlett police, Officer Cameron Emmett attempted to stop a black Jeep Wrangler driven by Erik Conover, 37, of New Jersey, around 4:45 p.m. Saturday. Conover fled, leading officers on an eight-mile pursuit before stopping. When Emmett attempted to arrest him, Conover allegedly struck the officer with his vehicle, Bartlett Police Sgt. Brian Moffat said. The pursuit continued for another 28 miles before Conover was taken into custody. Police said New Hampshire State Police deployed spike strips, successfully stopping the Jeep. Carroll police then resumed the pursuit and arrested Conover, who is facing multiple charges across several jurisdictions. Emmett was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released, authorities said.
