Another box truck struck Millers Run Bridge
LYNDON CENTER — Another box truck struck Miller’s Run Bridge. The latest incident was reported to Lyndonville Police at about 7:45 a.m. on Friday. The truck with the letters KTI on the door hit the bridge, caused damage, then reversed course and headed back toward Lyndon Institute. While en route, Lyndonville Police Chief Jack Harris received a report that the box truck had just gotten onto I-91 north from Exit 23. Chief Harris located the truck, which belonged to Kakandez Transportation Inc. out of Billerica, Mass., at the top of Sheffield Heights. The operator of the truck, Jobe Pa Ousman, 27, of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, told the Chief that he believed he stopped without hitting the bridge as he was looking out his driver’s window to make sure. As witnesses turned in videos and photos, the driver was issued the town ordinance fine of $5,000 for hitting and damaging the bridge after disregarding three signs advising of the limited height.
