A survey will gauge public support for ATV road access

WATERFORD — A survey will gauge public support for ATV road access. Currently, ATVs travel on town-maintained roads in defiance of a municipal ordinance passed in 2020 that bans the practice. Based on survey results, the Select Board may recommend changes to the ordinance for Town Meeting approval. The Select Board on Sept. 11 reviewed a draft survey and returned it to the ATV Access Subcommittee with suggested revisions. If everything goes as planned, the Select Board will approve the survey at its next meeting in October. Once approved by the Select Board, the survey will be distributed to Waterford property owners in hard-copy and digital form, for a period to be determined.
