A section of Broad Street in Lyndonville was closed for about 30 minutes last night as multiple units of the Vermont State Police conducted an action as part of an ongoing investigation. Police say the activity was related to an “ongoing investigation related to reports of criminal activity in the Northeast Kingdom.”  The section of Broad Street between Red Village Road and Passumpsic Street in the area near McDonald’s was the target area for the police action, and the public was kept away while multiple state police units including the Tactical Services Unit, Narcotics Investigation Unit, Crisis Negotiation Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigations, and Field Force Division took part with assistance from the Lyndonville Police Department. The response led to the arrest of Jared Bradley, 42, of St. Johnsbury, due to an outstanding warrant issued July 24 because of a parole violation, but Bradley’s arrest was not the focus of the ongoing investigation that prompted the state police response. Police are continuing their investigation.
