A Massachusetts man died after suffering a medical emergency
LINCOLN — A Massachusetts man died after suffering a medical emergency while hiking with his family in the White Mountains on Tuesday. In a press release, New Hampshire Fish and Game said the 52-year-old man from Topsfield had been hiking with his family along the Kinsman Ridge Trail. Fish and Game were notified of the incident at around 2:15 p.m. and called on a New Hampshire Army National Guard helicopter to assist. The National Guard team reached the hiker shortly before 4 p.m. and continued the life-saving measures that family members and other hikers had started. They continued treatment while the man was airlifted to a waiting ambulance from Littleton Fire Rescue at 4:40 p.m. The man succumbed to his medical emergency and was transported to Ross Funeral Home in Littleton.
