A large contingent from the Northeast Kingdom descended on Montpelier Thursday for a full day of advocacy to highlight the successes, challenges and priorities of the region at the statehouse. A cross-section of community and organization leaders representing economic development, education, health care, housing, tourism, recreation and more were slated to testify at several House and Senate committee meetings. Their testimony noted several headwinds the region faces, including housing, workforce development, access to capital and technical assistance, transportation, and child care.
