A former Lyndon Institute hockey coach facing multiple felony charges
A former Lyndon Institute hockey coach facing multiple felony charges after being arrested in October following a high-speed pursuit has been released on bail, but with a condition that prohibits him from driving. A conference has been scheduled for Dec. 4 at Belknap Superior Court in the case against Christopher Meunier, 56, of Littleton, who is charged with a dozen criminal offenses and violations. They include four Class B felony counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, two Class A misdemeanor counts of disobeying, Class A misdemeanor counts each of resisting arrest, conduct after an accident, criminal mischief, and violations for driving an uninspected and unregistered vehicle and driving with an expired license. According to New Hampshire State Police, Meunier, who was behind the wheel of a 2015 Toyota Camry, was pulled over on the morning of Oct. 6 on southbound Interstate 93 in Sanbornton for driving with an expired registration and inspection sticker. During the stop, Meunier refused to produce his license, registration, name, or any other form of identification. Meunier then sped away, knocking down one trooper and nearly colliding into the other trooper with his car. The troopers pursued the driver, but yhe pursuit was then called off by police because it had reached dangerous speeds on rural roadways. In New Hampshire, a Class B felony count carries a maximum state prison sentence of 3 1/2 to 7 years and a Class A misdemeanor count a maximum of 12 months in county jail.
